On Behalf of | Oct 5, 2015 | Firm News

When someone is charged with the intent to sell drugs, drug manufacturing or another drug-related offense, they may be unsure of what to do next. However, addressing the situation properly is vital because these charges can have a significant impact on an individual’s life. In Stamford, Connecticut, and all over the country, being charged with a drug crime can present a number of long-term consequences, such as jail time, stiff financial penalties and problems related to the presence of drug charges on a criminal record.

Law enforcement officials in Connecticut recently took two men into custody over drugs. Authorities were initially looking for the men, ages 40 and 43, because of probation violations. However, investigators claim the two had heroin, crack and $920 in their possession.

Officials say the suspects were apprehended in New London after they were found on Ocean Avenue. On top of charges related to probation violations, the two men are also facing charges over drug possession and their alleged intent to sell narcotics.

For people who have been accused of a drug-related offense, identifying the right course of action may seem difficult. However, closely assessing the details of the situation and figuring out which steps to take next is of the utmost importance. By approaching the legal system appropriately, some people may be able to prove their innocence or persuade the court to lessen the consequences. In fact, many people who are going through this could benefit from turning to an experienced legal professional for guidance.
