Former Connecticut fire chief faces DUI charge

A man who used to run the firehouse in Cohanzie was arrested by police the night of June 12 under suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. Connecticut authorities apprehended the man, who recently resigned from his position after insensitive comments he posted on social media came to light. He now faces a DUI charge but has been released on $1,000 non-surety bond. No court date has been publicly announced.

A 53-year-old man is facing serious charges after an accident that may have permanently crippled another person. The accident occurred on Columbus Avenue in New Haven, Connecticut, around 3 p.m. on the afternoon of June 5th. The driver is facing a DUI charge with further charges pending against him. It is unclear whether he has retained defense counsel at this time.

Connecticut man charged with driving under the influence

A 32-year-old Easton man was taken into custody following a traffic stop on Route 59, according to local police. Connecticut police based in Monroe arrested the man after observing driving behavior they say is consistent with someone driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. The man was later released on a $100 cash bond, and he is expected in Bridgeport for a court appearance on June 24.

5 Connecticut men face drug crime charges

Several residents of Manchester and East Hartford were arrested following a large-scale investigation into potential fentanyl trafficking. While the individuals arrested are not believed to be leaders in the alleged ring, they are being accused of buying, packaging and reselling the drugs from the ring. All five men are facing drug crime charges and are in Connecticut police custody without bond in advance of a trial.
