Authorities apprehend Connecticut drug suspect

Although a criminal record with any type of offense could haunt someone for years to come, drug charges can be particularly damaging. For example, those convicted of a drug crime may be unable to find work because of their past, or they could face particularly harsh penalties because of the stigma surrounding the nature of the alleged offense. Furthermore, in Stamford, and across Connecticut, some people may pay the price for a drug crime they never even committed in the first place.

Authorities in Connecticut claim to have found over 29 grams of marijuana in a Bridgeport woman’s possession. Officials also say that she may have been involved in a shooting that recently took place in Bridgeport.

In addition to drug possession, the woman is also facing charges related to theft and illegal firearm possession. Authorities also said that the vehicle the 23-year-old woman was driving matched a description given by the witnesses of a shooting on Stratford Avenue. The woman is being held on $20,000 bond.

Facing drug charges can lead to an incredible amount of anxiety and uncertainty, whether a suspect has been charged with possession, distribution, manufacturing or any drug offense. However, by closely examining the details surrounding their case and understanding each option, some people are able to improve the outcome. Plus, some have been able to secure a reduction of the charges they were facing or even have them dismissed altogether. Also, reaching out to an experienced legal professional and discussing the details pertaining to their case may also be beneficial.
